I have spent the last several months prepping for my first show. In just a few days, I will travel to New Orleans and compete in the Beachbody Classic 2017. I don't expect to place. And I am okay with that.
I came into this competition weighing 250 pounds. Today, I weigh 190. While other competitors were leaning out and developing muscles, I was shedding fat. Lots and lots of fat.
My mindset going into this was, "I am doing this for me." I didn't care what others were doing. I wasn't worried about their progress. I only focused on me. For the first time in my life, I wasn't worried about what anyone else was doing or what they thought. I celebrated MY victories. MY progress. This journey was truly my own.
This journey has ignited a fire to compete on a national level. I want to earn my pro card. I want to keep doing this.
I am the kind of person who likes to have a specific goal to work towards. Something tangible. I made more progress these last few months then ever. Because I had something to focus on. So, I will continue to train like this. I will continue to do what I've been doing. I've discovered I like doing 2-3 workouts a day. I like getting up at 445am. I like this life.
On this journey, I discovered a lack of resources for people like me. People who had weight to lose before getting in competition shape. People with a very limited budget. People who can't get to the gym.
So, I created this space. You will find workouts, meal prep times, competition tips and so much more. I will also be documenting my journey to get my pro card as well.
This is such an amazing journey. I can't wait to see what's next.
